Capex has developed a positive, solid relationship with the local communities in each of its areas of operation, mainly by providing assistance in the fields of education and food supply.

The importance of integrated nutrition during childhood and generating awareness of this issue in low-income households throughout the country are part of our commitment. Capex seeks to single out and help people with a spirit of achievement and commitment engaging in activities that can become true role models for other people. Together with its staff, it carries out a range of cooperation, support and dissemination actions related to cooperative, educational and cultural activities, with an active role in the “Dibujá una Sonrisa”. (i.e.: draw a smile) program.

The environment has always been one of the Company’s major interests and concerns. Capex thus complies with applicable rules and regulations, to which end it works with third-party consultants so as to monitor the environmental impact of the Company’s operations. Additionally, a dynamic environmental management plan has been put in place, which includes all required actions for the effective control of environmental aspects associated to our activities, products and services, including contingencies.

Our drilling and oil and gas extraction operations at the Agua del Cajon field, LPG production, thermal and wind power generation are certified under ISO 14001:2004. In turn, we have an environmental management system deployed throughout all of our lines of business. We have qualified as greenhouse gas emission reducers during the development of Phase IV of our electric power plant under the United States Initiative of Joint Implementation (USIJI).

reforestation

Back in 2014, a reforestation plan was launched in the Agua del Cajon area that is still under way, and which has remediated a total area of 6 hectares (14 acres) which had been previously impacted by hydrocarbon-related activities.
