Capex's power generation operations are located in the Province of Neuquen and include a combined-cycle thermal power plant with an installed capacity of 672 MW (ISO). The plant operates on natural gas, part of which is sourced from the Company's own reserves in the Agua de Cajon field.
The power plant is located in an 11,000 hectare (27,181 acre) field owned by Capex, in the Agua del Cajon area in the Province of Neuquen, 283 m.a.s.l. The facilities are in the El Salitral field, which supplies Capex with natural gas to be used as fuel for electric power generation.

The Agua del Cajon thermal power plant is connected directly to SADI (i.e.: the Argentinean interconnected power grid) through one substation and three 132 kV transmission lines, to which one new 500 kV line was added with the combined cycle plant, allowing for more flexibility and reliability.
